Downtown Club Schedule Elementary Program (K – 5th grade)

Weekly Operations: We are offering full day programming for one cohort of elementary students 4 days per week.

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 7:45am – 4:45pm. Closed Wednesdays.

*If the schools are able to re-open for in-person learning, elementary students will be on a cohort model. In this case, BGCB would transition to a cohort model as well, with students attending Club during the days their cohort is not at school. We will remain closed on Wednesdays, allowing time for our staff to prepare, meet, and receive ongoing training.

    Health & Safety

BGCB will be adhering to guidelines specifically designed for early learning and childcare by the Oregon Health Authority. Parents and caregivers will receive a copy of BGCB’s Prevention Protocol which will detail procedures for the following:

  • Drop-Off & Pick-Up
  • Daily Health Check
  • Recordkeeping
  • Group Size & Stable Groups – group sizes are limited at 20 with staff ratio minimums of 1:15
  • PPE for Children and Adults – face coverings will be required for all
  • Handwashing & General Hygiene
  • Cleaning & Sanitization
  • Responding to Possible and Confirmed Cases of COVID-19

Parents & caregivers will also be required to sign a copy of BGC’s parent waiver and Operational Prevention Protocol. These documents are still being finalized and will be sent once available.

    Attendance

In order to run programs this fall, BGC must operate as an Emergency Child Care provider with limited cohort sizes. This means that we can no longer accommodate the flexible model where families send their children on a drop in basis. Capacity is limited, so the expectation is that Club members attend on a relatively full time basis so that we can maximize our services for those who need regular care. Granted, we understand that there will be occasional absences for various reasons.

    Club +

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend’s new model for the school year is Club +. We will offer a hybrid of Club programming and a learning environment during the day. Our Club programming focuses on Arts, Education, Health & Wellness, Leadership & Service, and Sports & Recreation. We also provide mentoring, daily meals, and access to other supports within the community.

Academic Success is one of BGCB’s three core outcome areas. In our typical afterschool program, we provide homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities.

With schools operating Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL), we are working closely with the district to determine how we can support engagement in CDL for the youth in our program while they are at Club. The specifics of these plans are still in development with the school district and other partners.

While we will do everything we can to support distance learning, please understand that BGCB is not a school and our staff are not licensed teachers. We will communicate further once we have more information.

    Fees & Scholarships

  • Program fees will be $180 per week, per child. This breaks down to $5 per hour.
  • Youth ages 13 and up will pay the $25 membership fee (no weekly fee).
  • Need based scholarships will be available and we encourage you to apply. Scholarships will be determined and communicated along with enrollment status.
